"Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured". Mark Twain

A dear friend forwarded this anecdote in an email to me, which sheds a clear light on Twain's aforementioned quote:

USED vs. LOVED

While a man was polishing his new car,
his 4 yr old son picked up a stone
and scratched lines on the side of the car.
In anger, the man took the child's hand
and hit it many times not realizing
he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers

due to multiple fractures
.

When the child saw his father.....

with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?'

The man was so hurt and speechless;

he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.

Devastated by his own actions......

sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches;

the child had written
'LOVE YOU DAD'.
The next day that man committed suicide. . .

Anger and Love have no limits;

choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely
life & remember this:

Things are to be used and people are to be loved.
The problem in today's world is

that people are used while things are loved.

Let's try always to keep this thought in mind:

Things are to be used,
People are to be loved.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character;
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder..

I hope you have a good day no matter what problems you may face

it's the only day you'll have before it's over.

If we wait 24 hours before acting out any anger, so many of our problems would never escalate and turn into disasters or catastrophes...

2out of 5

Pros: Easy To Open/Close

Cons: Flimsy Construction, Uneven Closure

Best Uses: School

Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented

Primary use: Personal

I needed these binders for organizing my son's teaching materials. I ordered the 3 inch size and this larger size. To my surprise, both came damaged. I have NEVER had a problem before with ordering from Quill or with their products, but this time I was quite disappointed. The credit process was also quite mismanaged and I had to call more than once just to get my credit issued! NOT good. Not happy at all.

One of our retired customers aptly said: "I am so busy doing nothing that I don't have time to do anything!" Retirement, unlike birthdays and Christmas, only comes once so make sure to choose the right gift.

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you too, can become great."-Twain

One should be realistic in his/her ambitions, and focused in pursuing them.  To paraphrase Charles Dickens, I have achieved this much success because of completing each task to its end BEFORE beginning a new one...

In future posts, I will post a link to the Quotes book that I have purchased on Amazon and use it in my daily / weekly posts.

I also want to begin a few sections (mainly for my kids) on this blog (and then depending on their popularity, add them to another URL), which are known as Word of the Week, Quote of the Week and Image of the Week...

Comments and suggestions are welcome and entertained, as always...

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb."
-Calvin Coolidge

In this cycle of ups and downs known as life, how can we truly appreciate good times and good fortune WITHOUT withstanding the pressures and depression of bad times and failures of the past? Something to think about... -FM

WORDS of the week- egregious, replete, cogent, pernicious, axiomatic, sacrosanct, abstemious and blazon. It's fun teaching my kids when I learn WITH THEM. -FM

"Where is the Life we have lost in living? Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information? " T. S. Eliot

This quote seems more powerful today than perhaps when it was written, I think...what is the true meaning of happiness, self-satisfaction and contentment?

What is success truly measure by?
